3. Introduction

The Connectivity Production Line Tool is a tool developed by Renesas Electronics Coorporation. The goal is to aid our customers in setting up their production environment for testing Renesas Electronics Coorporation connectivity products. By using the Connectivity Production Line Tool the development effort of setting up production testing and programming will be greatly reduced which enables unrivalled time to market.

By using the Connectivity Production Line Tool, it is possible to test, calibrate and load firmware for multiple devices under test (DUTs) in parallel. Up to four PLT boards with eight test sites each can be daisy chained to achieve 32 test sites. The whole system is controlled by a Windows PC running the Connectivity Production Line Tool Software Package. By the end of this getting started, the minimal setup is illustrated in Figure 1 will be fully set up and explained.

This guide only covers the Connectivity Production Line Tool and not the legacy SmartBond™ Production Line Tool. The Connectivity Production Line Tool is a completely new system and is not compatible with the SmartBond™ Production Line Tool.
