1. Prerequisites

To start building a fully working solution that allows booting from RL78 host Renesas microcontroller the following tools are being used:

• Hardware tools:

  • Computational workstation (e.g. PC or Laptop)

    • 32-bit or 64-bit processor with 1 GHz processing speed

    • 1 GB RAM

    • 2 GB free disk space

    • US159-DA14531EVZ BLE Pmod or US159-DA145351EVZ BLE Pmod

    • RL78/G23-128p: RL78/G23-128p Fast Prototyping Board.

    • USB cable for power supply and for on-board debugging. A micro USB cable is provided with the RL78/G23-128p Fast Prototyping Board.

• Software tools:

  • e² studio 2024-07

  • Compiler: Renesas Electronics C Compiler for RL78 Family V1.13.00.

  • QE for BLE Tool

• Bluetooth® LE explorer application
