1. Prerequisites

To start building a fully working solution that allows booting from host Renesas microcontroller the following tools are being used:

• Hardware tools:

  • Computational workstation (e.g. PC or Laptop)

    • 32-bit or 64-bit processor with 1 GHz processing speed

    • 1 GB RAM

    • 2 GB free disk space

    • US159-DA14531EVZ BLE Pmod

    • Renesas EK-RA6M4 kit or any other Renesas RA microcontroller development kit.

    • USB cable for power supply and for on-board debugging. A micro USB cable is provided with the EK-RA6M4 kit.

• Software tools:

  • Renesas Flexible Software Package v5.4.0 platform installation which includes:

    • e² studio 2024-04

    • FSP 5.4.0 or later

    • GCC Arm Embedded 13.2.1

  • QE for BLE Tool

• Bluetooth® LE explorer application
